Sin By Silence Bill now in motion!
On January 10th, the Sin by Silence Bill (AB593) passed the California
Public Safety Committee with a unanimous vote of YES! We now move on to the Assembly and Senate to vote on this new legislation that gives the remaining
convicted survivors a chance at freedom.
As you saw in the film, there are many Convicted Women Against Abuse cases that have been overlooked due to the lack of laws in place during their original trials. Like in Glenda Crosley's case, the judge did not have an understanding of what evidence was admissible. The Sin By Silence Bill addresses this injustice by allowing those whose expert testimony was limited at their trial to submit a writ and go back before a judge.
We need your help now more than ever to show California legislators
that there is public support to help incarcerated battered women.
